There will be four days of advanced theory and practical training on microbiologically induced corrosion, both internal and external. Topics to be covered include the basics of microbiology, an introduction to corrosion, corrosion management, MIC assessment, industry standards related to MIC, basic cathodic protection theory for beginners, theory and hands-on sampling for external pipeline MIC, analysis of external corrosion failure cases, practical MMM training in rotation, ATP biomass measurements, DNA isolation, qPCR, sequencing, hands-on bioinformatics exercises, integration of microbiological data with other forms of evidence, and analysis and reporting of MIC testing.
