Marine Coating Technology (MCT)

Marine Coating Technology (MCT) took place Jun 29, 2026–Jul 2, 2026 in Parramatta, NSW, Australia. It was a Course event for corrosion and materials science professionals in the Oceania region. The course covers fundamentals of ship coatings: common ship types, corrosion forms by area, suitable marine coating/lining systems, the shipbuilding process, and surface preparation, application, and inspection techniques, including IMO PSPC requirements for ballast, cargo, and void tanks. Aimed at inspectors, engineers, QA managers, contractors, applicators, and maintenance staff, it trains participants to describe protective coating types and uses, address safety issues, use marine coating inspection instruments, and recognize key IMO resolutions related to coatings.
